In early '07 I thought I'd start a blog...but then I couldn't think what I would want to focus my blog on. Then it all got side-lined by life - new job, young kids,...you know - life in a nutshell.
This year, however, is different. I spent the last 6+ months working with a media company for whom the entire Web 2.0 world is ideal. So I learned...and learned...and learned. Now I know a fair amount and thought it time to dive in and try it for myself, and it seems that the best blogs are those written by experts. So, to get my feet wet, I thought it would be good to start a family blog where our parents, siblings, neices and nephews, and friends can check in and comment on our life and share theirs. The other big reason I chose a family blog is because just maybe I can get Lee to write too, sharing the load!
So, this blog is dedicated to our family and all the craziness we call a life. Please make fun of us, comment, refute, and keep us honest. Perhaps the most important thing you can do (and hopefully you'll gain something from this too) is provide perspective.
The whole point of social technologies is to enable endless numbers of people to participate in one another's lives in a very transparent way. We hope you'll participate in ours.
I won't make any promises on the frequency of posts, but I can promise that I'll be sure to keep you all up to date in general, and I'll increasingly try to incorporate all the fun things one can do with a blog (include pictures, videos, links, etc.).
Here's to a great 2008!
